Hemp Seed Oil, and Why It Is the Base of Everything Here

Hempz is built on one ingredient decision that the rest of the range follows from: 100% pure natural hemp seed oil as the carrier, not as a line on the back of the bottle. Hemp seed oil is cold-pressed from the seed, contains no THC, and is unusually well balanced in omega-3, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids. It also carries vitamin E and a set of amino acids that help the skin's own barrier hold water. In practice that means a formula that absorbs quickly and does not leave the greasy film that heavier plant oils do.

That single choice explains most of what people notice about the products. Moisturisers sink in fast enough to dress over within a minute or two. Body washes clean without the tight, squeaky feeling that comes from a stripped barrier, because the oil stays behind after the surfactant rinses. Fragrance strength varies more than people expect. The signature collection scents are the most assertive and are best used one product at a time. The aromabody line is softer and layers well. The sensitive skin formulas are close to unscented and are the ones to reach for if you react to fragrance at all, or if you are layering under a perfume you do not want to fight with.
